Personal Profile

sourseHi, my name is Garri Wiest. I hold a Masters degree in Gestalt Psychotherapy and a Bachelors degree in Psychology. I work primarily with individuals and small groups who feel disconnected from themselves and their environment, many who experience difficulty with relationships, reoccurring depression, disassociation and anxiety.

I became a student of Zen Buddhism over twenty years ago beginning my studies at the Kannonji Temple in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. I now incorporate Eastern and Western philosophy, meditation, ecological awareness and "Living Movement" into my practice providing a holistic approach to developing a fully integrated and balanced life. I hold accredited status with the BACP, UKCP and GPTI and follow their codes of ethics and practice. I am professionally supervised and committed to on-going personal development as a means to maintain, deepen and expand my skills, experience and knowledge.

I split my time between the Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire and Fonte de Baixo in Portugal (ahimsa-portugal.com) working closely with Brunhild Maslen, a Eurythmist with over 20 years teaching experience throughout Europe and Japan. Brunhild combines her interests in Eurythmy, Yoga, Ayurvedic healing and music with her unique approach to mindful-living.

sand dunesTogether we are the co-founders of When Things Fall Apart and Ahimsa-Projeto in Portugal, an educational foundation dedicated to the exploration and development of human potential and the advancement of the holistic-integration of mind, body and spirit. Throughout the year, we run a variety of workshops around the core themes of meditation, ecological-mindfulness, living-movement and awareness.
