Ecotherapy

Ecotherapy
is a fusion of ecology and psychology that explores the interrelationship
between the human psyche and associated behaviour and the natural world. It
recognises our relationship with the natural world as inherently healing and
facilitates deeper connection with our environment and Mother Earth.
It
is not surprising we seek Mother Earth when our personal lives seem unrewarding
and empty. Responding to the calls of emotional hunger will lead us into all
kinds of territory, not just to do with our family anthropology, but beyond
into the nature of our consumerism, alienation from the wild and free,
addictions to consumption and waste, and our powerlessness to change our world.

Getting started

The session format is slightly longer than normal
therapy sessions and combine being inside and outside the therapy room. You
will need to come prepared to venture outside and to work on the floor with
natural paints and clays.
- If you have decided to explore therapy you are taking a positive step
towards your own personal growth and self-empowerment.
- Entering into a therapeutic relationship with a professional practitioner
is a sign of strength, not weakness.
